The process of the facelift journey starts with your first consultation with your plastic surgeon, and ends a few weeks post-surgery, when you’re back to your regular self—just a little enhanced.
Dr. Arezou Yaghoubian at Aesthetica LA consults with you throughout your process to discuss the best options for attaining your goals, goes over the surgery process with you, and is health-focused throughout your recovery.
In this post, we will be going over what a facelift entails, however, each treatment will be slightly different for each patient, depending on the desired outcome.
During your consultation with Dr. Arezou Yaghoubian at Aesthetica LA, you will discuss with her your desired outcomes for your appearance. Dr. Yaghoubian will use her expertise to explain what you can expect from your facelift. She will share before and after photos so you can be confident in your choice with Aesthetica LA.
After chatting about your medical history, health, potential skin issues, and your desired outcome, Dr. Yaghoubian will suggest the best treatment plan for you.
After chatting about your medical history, health, potential skin issues, and your desired outcome, Dr. Yaghoubian will suggest the best treatment plan for you. A typical facelift treats problem areas of the lower section of the face including:
· Sagging skin on your jawline and chin area (a turkey neck or double chin)
· The wrinkling and sagging skin around your mouth and nose area
· Jowls around the cheeks
· Small patches of unattractive fat
A standard face-lift incision begins at the hairline near the temples, travels down and around the front of the ears, and then terminates behind the ears in the lower scalp. To enhance the appearance of your neck, a cut may be performed beneath the chin.
Dr. Yaghoubian will eliminate or relocate extra fat and strengthen the supporting muscles. Your facelift is complete once the skin has been pulled tight and any extra skin has been removed.
You will have bruising and swelling following your facelift surgery, which will linger for roughly two to three weeks. Even though you might not want to leave the house during the initial stages of recovery, you should start to feel better within a few days of surgery.
Most of the time, your doctor will take off your bandages a few days following the facelift procedure. In the two to three weeks following surgery, your surgeon will want to visit you a few times to check on your swelling and bruises and to take out your stitches.
